Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name Is Vicki, I’m 26 and you’ll usually find a camera permanently attached to my face. I choose to shoot film because of its endless possibilities and unpredictably.

Where did your love for film photography start?
When I started college ten years ago I chose to study lots of boring academic subjects that just weren’t for me. I made a new friend who happened to be studying photography and I would spend a lot of time with her whilst she developed her own film and printed her own pictures. I was in awe of the whole process so in my second year I took it up myself and have been in love with film photography ever since.

What are you favourite cameras and why?
I have a big collection of cameras so I find that I have a new favourite every other week. At this moment in time it would be my Chinon CS, I love how manual it is and I’ve recently been experimenting with double exposures on it which has been really exciting. I’ve also been having a lot of fun with my Fisheye 2 camera, especially since it allows me to be in the photos for once :)

Tell us a bit about these photos you chose.
The photos I chose were all taken on several cameras including my Diana F+, Holga, Chinon CS, Fisheye and 2 disposables. The thing I love about film is the uncertainty and trepidation you feel when you go to pick up a developed film for the first time. I don’t know about anyone else but when I get a great image back I get a wave of excitement and feeling of elation. All these images made me feel that way.

What are your top three locations for shooting in your town?
Stoke-on-Trent is usually known for being a pretty depressing and grey city but it actually has a hell of a lot of amazing countryside. My top shooting locations include Keele University campus, Rudyard lake and Mow cop castle.

If you were to invent a new film camera what would it do?
Whenever I go on holiday even if it’s just a weekend away deciding what cameras to take it always my biggest stress. Last year on a trip to America I took 7 cameras (Polaroid 600, Instax mini, Instax 210, Kodak point and shoot, Chinon CS, 2 x disposables) with me! So it would be amazing it someone created the ultimate transformer camera that was all my favourite cameras rolled into one. Even if I did have something like that though no doubt I’d see it as an excuse to take even more cameras with the extra room I’d have in my case!

Thanks for taking part Vicki!!
